How do librarians match books to readers, and how can we as authors be better partners with libraries? Join local librarians and Readers’ Advisory experts Susan Gibberman and special guest Becky Spratford in a conversation on how authors can work better with their local libraries to serve readers.
Susan Gibberman has won multiple awards for her work in Readers’ Advisory, including the Librarian of the Year Award from the Romance Writers of America. She has published a reference work on Star Trek and has been a contributing author to two editions of The Encyclopedia of Television sponsored by the Chicago Museum of Broadcast Communications. She is a longtime member of Sisters in Crime Chicagoland.
Becky Spratford is a Readers' Advisor in Illinois specializing in serving patrons ages 13 and up. She trains library staff all over the world on how to match books with readers through the local public library. She runs the RA training blog RA for All and is on the Steering Committee of the Adult Reading Round Table. Becky is also known for her work with horror readers as the author of The Reader’s Advisory Guide to Horror and is a proud member of the Horror Writers Association who honored her as a special guest of honor at StokerCon 2017 for her contribution to the genre.
